About The Lambing Shed

Owners Michael and Sue, and daughter and director of The Lambing Shed, Kathryn! Farmer Mick looks after Moseley Hall Farm with his son Robert and the team. Sue is our card queen. She also makes up and beautifully wraps all of our hampers. Kath oversees all the important stuff! She manages the team at The Lambing Shed.


The Mitchell family established Moseley Hall Farm on more than 400 acres of pristine Cheshire pasture lands. For more than 65 years, the family have worked this land with a single goal; to bring you the freshest produce and meats with no complications. Our philosophy of 'fresh, local, and simple' has guided The Lambing Shed and Moseley Hall Farm for more than six decades.


Our passion at The Lambing Shed is quality. We believe the best way to ensure quality is by utilising home grown and locally-sourced meats and produce. Although we do import some products for our store, most of what is found here at The Lambing Shed is produced right here in Cheshire.

We are proud of the fact that our family has farmed here at Moseley Hall Farm for so long. We are also thrilled to be able to share our passion for quality with our customers in The Lambing Shed. This is more than just a Mitchell family endeavour; it is a much larger effort that includes our family of customers, some of whom we have known for decades. We invite you to become a part of that family.


At The Lambing Shed and Moseley Hall Farm, we are completely committed to the philosophy of 'farm to table'. We firmly believe this is the best way to enjoy delicious food that is also nutritious. From our family to yours, we want you to enjoy the best that nature has to offer, whether you take it away and eat at your own table or enjoy a meal in our café. We believe freshness is what makes the difference. Everything we do at The Lambing Shed centres on freshness and quality. 

Moseley Hall Farm

Michael and his son Robert run our working farm, rearing both sheep and cows, and growing fresh produce. We are proud of the journey our produce takes from pasture to plate - we raise our sheep and cattle on the lush grass right here on our farm in Cheshire, not relying on external inputs or feed bought into the farm.

  • We currently maintain a flock of over 2,500 sheep and a herd of 250 beef cattle.
  • We have a range of cattle breeds, including British Blue, Limousin, Charolais and Long Horn. They are aged between 6 months and 2 years.
  • We are proud to be traceable and accountable.


Here at The Lambing Shed we are proud to be Red Tractor Farm Assured. Red Tractor is considered world leading in farming standards. You can be confident your food is traceable, safe and farmed with care.

We love what we do and are very proud to continue providing our customers with the highest quality produce. Our home-reared beef and lamb comes straight from our farm with love. 

We keep animal welfare at the core and ensure we can deliver full supply chain traceability and safety.
